New development in Ventimiglia, Italy
Nestled among the tall maritime pine trees of the Ligurian coastline, Villa Mortola is a contemporary three-bedroom villa designed across two levels, embracing the natural slope of the hillside and its panoramic Mediterranean views.
The architectural concept explores the relationship between the vertical rhythm of the pine trees and the horizontal composition of the building, creating a dialogue between architecture and landscape. Natural stone walls, warm timber elements and expansive glazing define a refined yet understated architectural language. Generous terraces and shaded outdoor spaces extend the living areas into the surrounding landscape, while carefully framed openings connect the interiors with the sea and the pine forest.
Inside, natural materials, warm textures and soft Mediterranean light create a calm and welcoming atmosphere.
The result is a contemporary Mediterranean retreat where architecture becomes part of the hillside, balancing privacy, openness and a strong connection to nature.
