New construction of Townhouse villa in Bordighera Liguria, Italy

Set on the first hillside of Bordighera with walking distance to the center and wide sea views over Monte Carlo, this three-story townhouse offers a contemporary interpretation of Mediterranean architecture. The project balances rational geometry with the presence of natural materials, creating a dialogue between landscape, light, and structure.The building follows the natural slope of the site. The top level forms the main entrance, accessed through a sequence of stone walls and restrained desert landscaping. The middle level contains the sleeping quarters, each room opening onto a private terrace embedded in the terrain.

The ground floor is dedicated to living spaces, fully glazed toward the sea and extending to a broad terrace with an infinity pool. Materiality is central to the design. Local stone grounds the structure, while smooth plaster and vertical wooden screens define the elevations. Timber elements filter sunlight and preserve privacy without interrupting the continuity of views. Horizontal lines, deep overhangs, and linear terraces frame the horizon, emphasizing calm proportion and spatial fluidity.
